The planned voyages of Silentstorm. Additionally, there may be side-trips and we may stay longer in some areas. Each voyage (from a home base and back) is made up of one or more Trips, each of which has several Legs. Each Leg is a different colour. The Trips have Legs of similar colours.
Setting sail from Scotland, we will fare south to the Canaries, jump to Barbados, sail around the Caribbean (possibly via the Annapolis & Miami Boat Shows), through Panama, down Chile to the Antarctic, across the Pacific, around NZ, up Eastern Australia to Japan, Kamchatka, through the North-West Passage to Halifax, then Greenland, Iceland, the Faeroes and back to Scotland.
The Pacific Trips follow the tectonic plate volcanic rim known as the "Ring of Fire".
Route: Blue, Yellow-Orange, Red-Pin
This voyage will take Silentstorm around the Baltic and up to Spitzbergen before returning to Scotland. Apparently, you cannot land at Spitzbergen UNLESS you have a rifle on board.
This route follows the tectonic plate volcanic rim known as the "Ring of Fire".
Silentstorm's third voyage will see us travel back down to the Panama Canal, through the Caribbean, starting at Trinidad and Tobago and moving up the Antilles to Cuba. From there, up the coast to Nova Scotia before making a northerly transatlantic crossing (via Bermuda, Iceland, Faeroes, Shetland, Orkney) to Scotland. Travelling south again to Cornwall, the Bay of Biscay and Gibraltar, we will enter the Med.
A circumnavigation of the Med (and Black Sea) will bring us back to Scotland.
This voyage is still in planning but will likely include a circumnavigation of the Baltic, including Denmark, Lithuania, Russia, Finland, Sweden and Norway, before travelling up the coast of Norway to Svalbard and Greenland.
Silentstorm will journey (almost) pole to pole. From Scotland, we shall continue south to the Azores, making the crossing to Brazil, possibly via St. Helena, and then onto Argentina and the Falklands. If we can, we will cross to the Antarctic peninsula (Graham Land), then back up to South Africa, Madagascar, the Seychelles, Maldives, Red Sea, into the Med via the Suez Canal, and then make our way back to Scotland.
This trip will be probably the most hazardous and require the most planning.
